Spring13 was asked to create a video for the Washington Area Women’s Foundation’s Leadership Luncheon. The Luncheon draws a crowd of over 1,000 powerhouse people in the DVM area who are interested in giving back locally. The Foundation’s mission is to eradicate poverty by investing in programs specifically targeted at helping women and girls. We spent two days interviewing several of the Grantee Partner Organization Executive Directors as well as many families living in poverty in the D.C. metro area. After shooting nearly 8 hours of footage, we edited it down to a 2 minute aspirational video showcasing one common denominator, “We all have dreams.” These dreams, in certain sectors of Washington D.C,. may seem expected and simple, like getting a college degree, yet for many they require a herculean effort for those living without the basic financial or emotional support needed. The video was well received, instigating a large applause after being shown. It was a great opportunity for the Spring13 team to work on a meaningful project while being reminded of each and every blessing we have that so often we take for granted.
“I can’t thank Spring13 enough for your work on the Washington Area Women’s Foundation Video. I know that this wasn’t an easy process, but we all persevered to create a poignant piece. I so appreciate and value the time, energy, and passion that you put into this project. I thank you for working with us to create such an inspirational and memorable video and fundraiser luncheon.”
